Ron paul supports the gold standard.
That's almost like being a creationist, only with economics. I can't fathom voting for anyone who's that oblivious. | We need to back our currency so that the bank cannot steal from the people through inflation then deflation.
We need sound money to keep the fed and the mint in check |

Fair enough but the Constitution party is extremely right wing. They are against just about anything that is fun, these guys want to ban alcohol again. |

What's this shit?
Constitution Party Social Platform:
| Quote: | | The party also opposes government recognition of same-sex unions, and believes state and local governments have the right to criminalize "offensive sexual behavior". The party further opposes pornography, believing the government needs to take a stand against it. Viewing gambling as destructive and contributing to crime, the party opposes legalized gambling as well as government's support of gambling organizations. However, the party opposes federal anti-drug laws, in keeping with the spirit of Article 1 Section 8 and Amendment 10, while maintaining that the federal government may have a role in limiting the import of drugs. |
What a freakin hyporcritical platform, it's almost worse then the 'Pubs. The party is pro-drugs (cool, let people police themselves) but then it is anti-porn, anti-gay, anti-gambling (god forbid we should allow ADULTS to make a choice on what they want to see, who they want to DO IT with, or how they want to spend their OWN god damn money).
The Constitution Party sounds like a bunch of right wing hippies who want to have their dope and control other people too. Moderate my ass, that is fascism.
This makes the criticism of them so much more believable:
| Quote: | Critics contend the Party uses its name in an Orwellian and disingenuous fashion in order to mask a theocratic agenda. Political Research Associates links the Constitution Party to the dominionism movement and voices concern that the Party advocates a form of government more reminiscent of the Pilgrims than of the Founding Fathers. The left wing Southern Poverty Law Center has voiced similar concerns and views the party's "cult-like" rhetoric as an invitation to commit violent acts to achieve a society not unlike that envisioned by the Iranian Revolution. The Party is also involved with the Christian Exodus, the Unregistered Baptist Fellowship, and other secessionist/separatist groups.
Prominent members Devvy Kidd, Mary Starrett, and Chuck Baldwin advocate, in a variety of online conservative opinion journals, open defiance of the IRS and current Federal tax filing regulations. |
