Frankly, the data doesn't show much. The ten states with the worst unemployment had a tax burden of 10.52 and the ten best states for unemployment had a tax burden of 10.21. I don't know how significant of a difference that is.
Alaska is one state that flummoxed me. It has the lowest tax burden but is quite high on the unemployment list. Hawaii is vice versa.
