Male ducks gang-rape female ducks.
Because i'm sure everyone really wanted to know that.
(And if you like that fun fact, get this: male ducks also engage in homosexual necrophilia)
But the point is, ducks rape other ducks. And this, apparently, results in some evolutionary wierdness going on.
It appears to be the case that the oviducts (duck vaginas) of female ducks have been changing such that they're more...difficult to navigate. Curvy, dead-ends, that sort of thing. This is to foil would-be duck rapists; a male duck cannot inseminate a female duck if he puts his penis (or, rather, the analagous structure in ducks called a phallous) in the wrong place. Or if it can't fit it in right.
And duck penises have been evolving in response; they've been taking on wierd shapes to better navigate the insides of a female duck.
