Okay folks...I need your ideas and opinions once again...

I felt it would be nice to have a ranking system...

Based on the number of posts you have you would move up the ranks...

You would have a label under your username stating your rank.

However, I do need names for different ranks...that is where you come in...If you have any ideas on what type of ranking system should be used, let me know...

For instance...

1-20 posts...Rookie

20-100 posts...<insert name here>

100-500 posts...<insert name here>

500-1000 posts...<insert name here>

I feel this would be a good way to let people know where the member of this board stand on group participation.

I know some forums I am a member of I have 5,000+ posts and people don't respect that, because they just don't know.

So if you have any ideas on rank names/post counts...let me know and it will be voted on and implemented.

Have a great weekend everyone and merry xmas! ( and happy holidays to those who believe in the "war on christmas" Laughing )

I ended up making a graphical rank system...

1 through 5 flags...

50 posts gets you one flag...500 posts gets you 2...yadda yadda

"registered user" will stay under your name until you hit 1000 posts...then you get to put whatever you want under there...

rage...

i may have to resort to posting in sections to get to put whatever i want where it says registered user (which became lame only once it was found out that whatever i want could be there)

Okay, I have to be completely honest here..

I know it's not even the subject of the thread, and there's nothing that will change from my opinion, but... When I came to the forum I got to thinking about the actual name of it. I think that Liberals vs. conservatives is counterproductive to the advancement of the country. I don't believe that we should be viewing our political parties like we would a ball team. It should be an open discussion of dialog and a give and take of ideas to form "a more perfect union". Not a battle of wills to the death in order to crush any other ideology that steps in the way of a political agenda. I think this is why the country is so polarized now.

I haven't seen many rude, arrogant or condescending attitudes in this forum yet, and I'm happy about that. But I would ask that if (and when) it happens, the forum doesn't turn into a moderator bullied highly censored place. I understand certain situations will need to be addressed by moderators and certain posts will need to be stopped for the good of the community, but please, as a request, don't get overly dominating. Everyone can get heated in passionate discussion and I too have gone a bit over the line at times (That's an admission. I do retaliate), but I've always tried to end the discussion on good terms and let bygones be bygones.

That being said, I do like the ranking system however it's decided. Definitely do it. I hope to see the forum grow into a well formed place for discussion. Wink

So uhhh, now that that's in the open, GAME ON!! Laughing

Rude, arrogant or condescending attitudes are what makes a thread fun every now and again. It is when the user goes totally off base, pulls the race card or the "because fox news said so" card that makes me angry. LOL.

Good idea but you may get folks who reply with rubbish, e.g. yeh, lol, shit etc. just to climb the ladder. Would you monitor such posts?

squire
man at arms
knight
baron
duke
monarch

or from chess

pawn
knight
bishop
castle
queen
king

No, on second thoughts the conservatives may object to becoming queens!
