Yep because rehabilitation and pre-emptive ideas don't float to well around here. |
well certainly not preemptive ideas that involve invading sovereign nations.
and of course the majority of the population would not consider preemptive ideas on crime prevention like talking care of the poor and establishing a living wage. |

Pfft, "legal", whatever. That's never stopped anyone. |
Have you spken to everyone in the world? No.
But really, it does stop people, some people don't do things purely because they are illegal, no other reason. I think it would be nice if we didn't need laws, but thats not gonna happen. |

What I'm saying is how do you know that laws don't stop people from doing things? |

well they do...i mean i would love to drive 100mph everywhere but there are laws in place that stop me from driving that way.
what i am saying is that a lot of crime is caused by desperate situations, and if these were addressed, there would be less crime. it is apparent where i live. the city was prosperous and then thousands of people lost their jobs at a steel mill and thousands have been laid off by ford and gm, which caused us to move into the category of one of the poorest cities and now the crime rate is skyrocketing. theft of all kinds and murders rates were up i think 30% last year. |

And that in a country that considers itself the worlds last super power a dam shame. |

It was so much better when you had russia to worry about...
jusdeadphunky- I agree with you, it is the situations that create the need to do crime, but the very fact that some things are illegal is reason enough for some people to not do something. |
