WASHINGTON (AP) - Democrat Barack Obama says he would delay rescinding President Bush's tax cuts on wealthy Americans if he becomes the next president and the economy is in a recession, suggesting such an increase would further hurt the economy.

I don't think he directly suggested that at all. I think his implication was that at times when the economy is weak, making sudden overlying changes can harm the economy. |

well if he thinks they will help the economy....then why not implement them ASAP?

well are they going to help long term or hurt long term? It would seem to me that if they will hurt short term but help long term, then the smart thing to do is to implement them now so we can get the hurt over. Of course, Barack probably is beginning to suspect that with all the other countries cutting taxes, there might actually be something to it. Maybe raising taxes in a time of economic uncertainty aint such a good idea. |
