I love the old "well Clinton did it too/worse" defense. Does this justify something, or is it just an interesting tidbit?

well it sort of puts in perspective the number of military deaths we have had to endure as a result of the Iraq war. As terrible as each death is, the actual number of deaths is not outrageous. of course, the above doesn't cover the number of injured.
