Coming from the left we have political correctness which attempts to assert that we can't say and do certain things, and the ever-growing popularity of hate-crime statutes, which penalize thought rather than behavior.

Please you social conservatives are just as oppressive and controlling as PC liberals are so dont try that load of bullshit. If conservatives really cared about free speech they would dismantle the FCC but you know why many of you cons dont want the FCC gone because they believe free speech should be controlled. As long as Conservatives want to do it its ok. You conservatives join in this unholy alliance with PC liberals when it comes to TV, Movies, Video Games, Music and the like but instead of having to think of the children your reasoning is that doesnt promote Christian values. One of the rights heroes Tony Perkins is demanding that the FCC give him, give him a family friendly broadband. Take note that this kook doesnt believe in Evolution but now all of a sudden wants a piece of technology and he doesnt want to buy it like everyone else is supposed to he wants it given to him. So before you start slamming the PC left why dont you take a look at your own side first. |

Anyone else ever notice that when religious people do things we don't agree with, it's always assumed they are conservative politically? In this very thread someone mentioned (albeit not by name) the PMRC non-sense and attempts to constrain music lyrics, attributing this to right-wing Christians. Of course, those with a half a clue will remember Tipper Gore leading the charge on that one... hardly a rabid right-winger.
Yes, Christians often complain about the way other people use their freedom of speech, and they do so as CHRISTIANS. Liberals do it as LIBERALS. |
