Except that he's seeing support from independents and even members of the "conservative" crowd because of his bipartisan "hope" message. But was that supposed to be an insult? He's a liberal. No shit that his support would be liberal-based. |

Oh great. I also stand for ending the war in Iraq. To be honest, I haven't met a living soul who doesn't want to end the war in Iraq. What a great position to take. I'll bet he wants a great future for our children and other empty platitudes.
Do you people ever get beyond these things? Ok....let's take taxation. What is obama's tax plan? seems like one ought to know what a candidate's position on taxation is before we get to gung ho for him.
I'll bet my 2007 tax refund that noone has a clue what Obama's tax plan is. kidding but ask Tress, he might actually take you up on this. |

well Obama's plan definitely feels good. it's stupid but it will probably win him more votes. I think the GOP plan is to end the war by winning the war.

what a great plan. again it feels so right. any details? what percentages are we talking here? and is he going to raise the income tax? and how is he going to cut taxes on the poor when people making less than 40k/year have basically zero tax liability right now? |

At what cost? The Cons plan is to throw as many US lives as they can get away with into Iraq and shuffle as much money as possible (so it can be 'repariated' through US oil company executives) into Iraq for as long as possible.
That's a real good plan for "winning" a war. |

Great zero tax liability for the poor?( i still think we can do better) So lets move on to part two and raise taxes on the people earning $200,000/yr. or more.
Oh and whats the plan for winning the war? |

it means more to me that he wants to win. i sorta think that to be important. and why shouldn't we stay? wouldn't it be in our best interests to have a military base in the middle east? |

why are you so bent on raising taxes? especially when it is likely to brin in less tax revenue? why not flatten the tax code which also tends to increase tax revenue?
and the plan for winning the war involves five steps:
"There are five steps in our plan to help Iraq achieve democracy and freedom.
We will hand over authority to a sovereign Iraqi government,
help establish security,
continue rebuilding Iraq's infrastructure,
encourage more international support, and
move toward a national election that will bring forward new leaders empowered by the Iraqi people."
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/05/20040524-10.html
Those are the steps...like em or hate em.
I sure like our flawed plan for winning better than the perfect dem plan for losing. |
