The media is mean, but i blame their viewers. If playing up (and/or making up) controversy wasn't so effective at getting ratings, they wouldn't do it.

I think he may be a racist.

But i don't think that barack obama is a racist, nor do i believe that he holds the same racially charged view as wright. And i don't really care about what wright thinks. Hence my nonchalance about the matter.

That's what the big deal is allegedly about - obama. It's easy to find a black preacher who doesn't trust whitey. The only thing special about this black preacher, the thing that keeps the media at all interested, is his relationship to barack obama.

It's...not quite that simple.

You see productive entrepreneurs and men who use their power for (sometimes) the betterment of society.

Some other people, though, see previous decades of oppression, and continuing white privilege.

That's not necessarily the best way to look at things, in terms running a productive and non-divided society, but it helps to try to understand why people might see things that way.
