you are not being cursed nor threatened. a true patriot treats their county like they would a best friend. when your best friend is not acting in a just manner and when your best friend is doing things that seem good in the present but will prove to be detrimental in the near future, you do not keep your mouth shut and you do whatever you can to help them see the errors in their ways. that is a patriot. a patriot is not someone who will follow their government blindly into an devastation. a patriot is not someone who goes out and tries to justify injustice and make excuses for it. that is not patriotism. you sir are no patriot. there would be no good ole' u. s. of a. if our forefathers were ignorant cowards like yourself. don't ignore the roots that created this country you claim to love. ignorance is bliss, but it comes with a price tag. |

Government officials do not inherently deserve loyalty - there's a huge difference between being loyal to your country and being loyal to its officials. Monarchs, especially, deserve little loyalty.
And their country was england only according to england.
What "their country" actually was is entirely dependent upon their own mindset, and it's quite clear what that was.

I am also an Ambrose Bierce fan, but I think Paradise lost showed a much better side of the devil than the dictionary ever did.
Lucifer the vertigo comics series also rocks the casbah. |
