It belongs to neither. My God promised it to me last week.

Depends on who you ask.
How far you want to go back.
if you believe in God/The 1st Testament or not.
what are your beliefs on land purchase/annexing.
a few places to start...
-at the end of the day both had lived in the land.
-A God promised Israel (the real Israelites) the land but changed his mind a few times.
-Britain ended up with the land (they always end up with land) after defeating the Turks.
-Britain promised the land to both.
-Jews bought up a lot of the land and therefore declared it Israel.

| It's a known fact that palestine belongs to the palestinians, that there are many reasons to back it up... One of the reasons was that when jew's left the land for more than 1400 years there is no way that they still lay claim to the land. Another reason that palestine doesnt belong to the jews is that Israel was founded on a strain of fundemental terrorism inwhich their attacks led great britain to withtdraw from the lands.... Zionism was made from a book in which an austrain born jew who never stepped foot in palestine made up.. thats a pretty good reason that it doesnt belong to the jews. |

So it belongs to the palestinians because they were there after the jews left but before the jews came back? Do you think the jews just packed up and decided one day they would leave? I think there were a few kings and armies and lots of bloodshed involved there somewhere.
The land doesn't belong to anyone. It will be there long after the jews and palestinians kill each other off and give us all a much earned rest from hearing about who has been more wronged. |

Who got there first? tough to say since if you go back far enough they claim the same geneology.
Who can stand on it and defend it for a generation or more? So far in the latest round of the multi-millenial match the nation of Israel has been able to claim ownership by its military might.
Beyond that I would ask what right does anyone have to claim to any land? |

As far as why are they still fighting for it?
Both claim it was divinely granted them by their God.
Both have holy sites in it, as does the Christian religion.
Both have religious prophecies for the future tied to it, as does the Christian religion.
I am assuming some of them who are not religous just don't want to share it because they don't like eachother. |
