Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.
US Congressmen are citizens of this country too, and the rights set forth by the Constitution apply to them too. Saying that "Christians need not apply if they believe weird things" is infringing on their rights as US citizens. |

Soo... if the point isn't that congressmen shouldn't talk about what they believe, what IS the point?
