The motivation of profitability is held in suspicion by some because it indicates that a person's goal is something other than doing what they do, and doing it well.
Well, i suppose that's actually kind of obvious. I guess it's just a matter of what you think a person's goals *should* be. |

Heat ray? I'm pretty sure there's no heat ray.
There's a pain beam, though - makes people feel like they're on fire.
Which, mind you, is physically possible (and completed, too). |
It makes you feel like your on fire, I call that a heat ray. Anyways, my point is, the government is more efficient at healthcare than the private companies. |

A "heat ray" is something that shoots heat. That's been the case for hundreds of years.
The pain beam shoots microwaves.

I don't really care about efficiency - it's not the most important thing. After all, if you're very efficient at something, but it's not something that's going to solve your problem, thne it's not much good is it?
I want the most effective solution.
And no, i don't think totally privatized healthcare is the solution. The very concept is total nonsense.
The solution is a combination of the two. My prefered method is strict government regulation. |

For hundreds of years? I think not! They were heat hands back then. If it shoots something that feels like heat, whats the difference?
(microwaves heat things up btw)
A combination of the two is what makes america one of the worst 1st world countries in the world in terms of medicine. |

Read "War of the Worlds".
That book is the origin of the phrase. It was written over 100 years ago.

No, microwaves heat water up, and that's only because water's rotational movement happens to work at the resonant frequency of certain wavelengths of microwaves.
The electromagnetic radiation associated with heat is infrared.

America has the best healthcare of any country on earth.
The problem is that not everyone can afford it.
And no, we don't have a combination of the two. You only get government healthcare if you're very old or disabled. Everyone else is on their own. |

I was trying to say "heat wands", and a hundred years ago isn't hundrds of years ago.

We are 80% water.

America might lead the way in experimental operations and R&D, but you don't have the best healthcare in the world when routine surgeries cost less in india and when people die of completel;y preventable diseases just because they don't have insurance. |
