It is a great video.
I believe that we are in the middle of great change. Part of that change is based on media (more internet), part is situational, and part of it is generational.
I think the start of this change was noticed during Howard Dean's campaign. It is now stronger with Obama.
With the internet, everyone can do their own research. Sure, there is some garbage to sift through, but the savy and the young know this.
With sites such as youtube, the stupidity and shallowness of candidates such as McCain are easily documented and shared.
The TV media is scared shitless. They see that thier strength is being diminished. They talk in old terms, the terms of 20+ years ago, the terms of their golden age. They try to compare today's campaign to situations such as McGovern and Nixon; things have changed. You see thier losses in the poor rankings among younger viewers for Faux News. You see it in the "blow back" that ABC got for the crappy debate questions (George's rankings are still piss poor). (I'm not saying that TV has no weight, just that it is diminishing.)
People are mad and aren't going to take it anymore. They are tired of the lies and propaganda. They listened to it and believed it, and where did it get them: massive gas prices, massive deficits, rising medical costs, a war based on lies... No more. They are going to do reasearch on the candidates, including taking a look at the crap that McCain is spewing (such as in this video), and promptly vote for Obama (or in the case of hard-core conservatives, not vote at all). Only the insane will vote for McCain. |
