Did your Senator sell out your rights for the Telecoms?

Why would the Telcom companies need immunity, if they did nothing illegal?
To hide whatever may come out in court when asked why they broke the 4th amendment.
To save money when they lose in court to millions of lawsuits from Americans who have been spied on when the fourth amendment was broken.
Kickback from Bush for all the help they gave him when he broke the fourth Amendment.
  All of the above.
None of the above. They should have received immunity, even though they willingfully broke the law for large sums of money from the government when breaking the fourth amendment.

Have your Senators voted to give Telecoms Immunity?

If you live in IN, DE, ND, CA, HI, SD, WI, LA, AR, MO, MD, FL, NE, WV, CO, MI or VA, call your senator now, because they have voted for telco immunity.

What does this mean?

These telephone companies ( Verizon, AT&T, etc.. ) broke the law and constitution when aiding the government in eavesdropping on Americans under the guise of "terror".

Now, realizing that they can get into trouble, our President is trying to give them a "get out of jail free" card by giving them immunity...

Think about it America, why would they need immunity if they did nothing wrong?

Why is this a more important issue than the war and the election?

Call your Senators if you live in one of the states mentioned:
IN, DE, ND, CA, HI, SD, WI, LA, AR, MO, MD, FL, NE, WV, CO, MI or VA, call your senator now, because they have voted for telco immunity.

Here is a list of numbers:

http://www.salon.com/opinion/g.....index.html
Section 222 of the Communications Act of 1934 provides that "[e]very telecommunications carrier has a duty to protect the confidentiality of proprietary information of . . . customers." 18 U.S.C. 2511 makes warrantless eavesdropping a felony; 18 U.S.C. 2702 requires that any "entity providing an electronic communication service to the public shall not knowingly divulge to any person or entity the contents of a communication" without a court order; 47 U.S.C. 605 states that "no person receiving, assisting in receiving, transmitting, or assisting in transmitting, any interstate or foreign communication by wire or radio shall divulge or publish the existence, contents, substance, purport, effect, or meaning thereof, except through authorized channels of transmission or reception"; and 18 U.S.C. 2520 provides for civil damages for any violations.

Like all statutes, those are all laws democratically enacted by the American people through their Congress and signed into law by the President. They were enacted precisely in order to make it illegal for telecoms to allow government spying on our calls and written communications without court orders -- precisely because Americans discovered that telecoms had previously allowed unfettered government spying on our communications and wanted to make it illegal for them to do so ever again. Those are exactly the laws the telecoms broke, in exactly the way that the American people wanted to prohibit.

A very good article on this matter JLV
They want immunites for telecomms
because they knowingly broke the law
and divulging information to the government is a felony

I can't believe Hillary didn't have "the balls" to vote. No pun intended.

I hope people can see the shadiness behind this move.

Fuck the free market. Anyone that believes in not being spied on without warrants, and/or the rule of law, should be outraged.

That's some bullshit right there mate. It's the liberals in this country that established the civil liberties in the 60's, not you whiny-ass libertarians. When your movement actually contributes to something useful, you can run your mouth.

Don't start this bullshit again. If you disagree with the point I'm making, provide the information to prove me wrong. Otherwise, shut the fuck up. I'm not going through this little "you're wrong but I don't have to display that you are" thing again.

It's not a bogus claim. All of the major groups in the civil rights movement were leftist groups. The hippies, the black panthers, the liberal Democrats who overruled and ousted the Dixiecrats and then passed the Civil Rights Act. It's common knowledge; I don't know what you want me to cite.
