Reagan had good intentions but he was played like a fiddle.
He had no idea that some of the things that he did during his time as president would hurt us in the long term.
But that is the beauty of hindsight, and the conservative base of american should know that and learn from his mistakes as well as the good he did.
Mccain has not learned that giving illegals mass amnesty did not work in 1986 and would not work now.
Reagan meant well but he did too much.
Mccain is by no means a conservative and it is a travesty that the RNC is favoring him. |

A consevative is a classic liberal.
She is all about the government intervening in personal lives policing morality
she is not a righty by any means, she is a statist,authoritarian aka leftist. |

No. A classical liberal or a libertarian is a classical liberal. A conservative is a conservative, classical and modern. |

| What source do I need? It's not a scientific theory. Read a page describing classical liberalism, then read a page describing libertarianism, them read a page describing classical conservatism, then read a page describing modern conservatism. |

so if our founding fathers were classic liberals,
and our represenetives are conservatives, they would be conserving the classic liberal tradition would they not? |

I think ann coulter is a conservative much in the same way that stephen colbert is. Except, instead of making people laugh, she makes their blood boil (if they're decent) or she excites them (if they're evil, or insane).
It's just too hard for me to believe that she believes what she says. People who believe that stuff are usually aware of how socially unacceptable their views are, and so they keep their mouths shut (mostly). |

| I concur: she's in the infotainment business. Every time she says something over the top, she gets her face on television and gets free advertising for her books. I wouldn't take her too seriously. |
